MURAL MASTERS:

Mural Masters has been described as innovative and disruptive, culturally expansive, and wildly festive. It’s a fundraising event to benefit the Community Art Center’s arts-based youth programs.

Four local artists team up with Community Art Center teens to compete in a day-long event to produce four murals that are judged by a panel and by the general public! 

In 2019, we came together for our first Mural Masters fundraiser, a fun and dynamic, creative placemaking event featuring local artists, CAC alums, and students. Together, we watched art-making happen in real time, as they created murals for our local community. Although the global pandemic forced the cancellation of the Mural Masters event in 2020, it was able to return in 2021 thanks to the unwavering support of our sponsors, and their commitment to the well-being and creative development of young people in the Port neighborhood of Cambridge. In 2021, Mural Masters was combined with our Port Arts Fest, which is a block party along Windsor St between Harvard St and School St that celebrates the neighborhood through games, activities, food performances, and street murals.
