Youth ages 13-19 can take part in our Teens Programs.

We offer our Teen Media Program, where youth become creative technology users by engaging in media arts and leadership activities, like the Do It Your Damn Self!! Film Festival; and our Teen Public Art Program, where teens collaborate with local mural artists and celebrate their lives, stories, and community.

TEEN PUBLIC ART PROGRAm

The Community Art Center's public art program focuses on creating murals and other public art installations that feature the artistry of our youth and celebrate their lives, stories, and community.

Youth enrolled in the Teen Public Art Program learn to solve complex problems working as a team to transform their community through public art. They do this using a variety of digital and traditional media.
Art Center youth have created public art commissioned by local corporations and institutions such as Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Alexandria Real Estate Properties, Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Cambridge Housing Authority.

TEEN MEDIA PROGRAM

Youth in the Teen Media Program become creative technology users by participating in media foundations classes. Media foundations classes introduce youth to the digital arts and media literacy.

Teen Media Program offers a sequenced, multi-year curriculum that helps youth hone their storytelling skills through filmmaking and photography. Students learn the art of storytelling, how to craft a narrative and to produce short films using Digital Single-Lens Reflex (DSLR) or phone cameras. Students also have the opportunity to participate in the nation’s oldest youth-led film festival, Do It Your Damn Self!!, which has been sponsored by Novartis Pharmaceuticals, Google, BioGen, and Alexandria Real Estate Properties.
