MURAL MASTERS has been described as innovative and disruptive, culturally expansive, and wildly festive. It’s a fundraising event to benefit the Community Art Center’s arts-based youth programs.

Four local artists team up with Community Art Center teens to compete in a day-long event to produce four murals that are judged by a panel and by the general public!

In 2019, we came together for our first Mural Masters fundraiser, a fun and dynamic, creative placemaking event featuring local artists, CAC alums, and students. Together, we watched art-making happen in real time, as they created murals for our local community. The global pandemic forced the cancellation of the Mural Masters event in 2020. We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of our sponsors, and their commitment to the well-being and creative development of young people in the Port neighborhood of Cambridge.

For those planning to attend Mural Masters, WELCOME!

This is a neighborhood-wide event, to celebrate the unique vibrancy, culture, and art of the Port neighborhood. We hope that friends, neighbors, and sponsors will all come out to join us.

Two blocks of Windsor Street will be closed to traffic so that we can repaint ground murals as part of the day's activities. This is intended to be a fun, safely-spaced, outdoor, community-wide event for all.

There will finally be color and activity in the street again! We’ve missed seeing our neighbors...

Local artists will be painting ground murals on Windsor Street
Mural Masters competition will be held in the adjacent lot, directly in front of 119 Windsor
Community Art Center teen and youth artists will participate
AND, we will all count on your voting, to crown the winning Mural!

There’s sure to be plenty of music and fun. We’ll be setting up impromptu neighborhood portraits in the street, taken against a backdrop. Come out and grab a family photo! This feels like an important year to document.

all of the live art-making in real-time.

MM Volunteer

Mural Master + the Port Arts Celebration is a community event, and we need our community's help! Volunteers will work in 2-3 hour shifts throughout the day, supporting Mural Masters teams, Port Arts Muralists, sponsors, and attendees.

We're looking for enthusiastic volunteers with experience in hospitality/customer service, photography, videography, first-aid, construction, time-management, and collaboration!
