About the Home Port Public Art Initiative

Home Port is a multi-year initiative that uses pop up events, photojournalism, public art, and story collection, to strengthen the Port community.  Home Port asks that residents be directly involved in the formation and design of a neighborhood fashion brand, mobile art trailer and community gateway kiosk.  The Home Port Art Trailer will circulate around the Port, engaging residents, encouraging artmaking, and building community and voice. The Home Port Gateway Kiosk will welcome people into the neighborhood, take in and share community information and serve as an anchor location for the Art Trailer. Home Port is guided by a group of neighborhood leaders, carried out by local youth and supported by a team of partners including the City of Cambridge, real estate developers Alexandria Real Estate Equities and Boston Properties and grassroots neighborhood groups. To view the blog from Summer's Home Port Art and Music Series, please visit: http://homeportpublicartproject.tumblr.com/

Home Port is funded by  The National Endownment for the Arts through the Our Town grant. Funding also provided by the Fund for the Arts, a public art program of the New England Foundation for the Arts.
