We believe in the power of young people.

We believe in the power of artistic expression.

We believe in taking care of ourselves and each other.

We believe in creating positive change in our neighborhood & beyond.

Our

Programs

SCHOOL AGE CHILD CARE

Youth ages 5-12 participate in the School Age Child Care (SACC) Program, where they become creative problem solvers through a hands-on arts curriculum.

TEEN

PROGRAMS

Youth ages 13-19 take part in our Teens Programs. We offer a Teen Media Program, activities like the Do It Your Damn Self!! Film Festival, and a Teen Public Art Program. Teens collaborate with local artists and celebrate their lives, stories, and community.

Community

PROGRAMS

Our community programs provide an opportunity for our youth artists to share their passion with the larger community. We do this through public art, family engagement initiatives, and special events.

Do It Your

Damn Self!!

National Youth Film Festival

We organize DIYDS!!, the longest running youth-produced film festival in the country.

The festival brings together hundreds of youth and adults to public screenings and panels across the region.

Support Us

For over 80 years, the Community Art Center has promoted creativity as central to human development and a human right.

Today we continue growing our reach, improving access to quality arts education, and deepening our impact throughout the Port neighborhood and beyond. Our commitment to amplifying the voices of those who most often go unheard is as present today as it ever was. Ongoing initiatives aim to further develop and broaden the scope of our nationally recognized Teen Media Program, Teen Public Art Program, and the Do It Your Damn Self!! Film Festival. While new programs like Port Arise Institute seek to meet the growing needs of our youth and their families.

In the future, with your donation, we will impact more children and youth through innovative programs; providing students with experiences and opportunities that will build their confidence and prepare them for a life of active and engaged citizenry.
