DIYDS National Youth Film Festival
See our Events page for hightlights from the 2012 Festival.

Created in 1996, the "Do It Your Damn Self!" National Video and Film Festival (DIYDS!!) was founded by teens who were motivated by their feelings that youth-produced videos did not have enough outlets to be viewed and appreciated by a wider audience. DIYDS is the longest-running youth-curated film festival in the country, and attracts over 900 youth and adults to public screenings and workshops. The festival provides an outlet for short videos and films created by teens from around the nation. With DIYDS, TMP teens gain valuable experience in critical thinking, media literacy, team building, and public speaking. The festival weekend is a forum for young people to meet and share their common interests in media and its use in promoting and communicating topical issues. The DIYDS Festival has established itself as a national leader in the field of youth media, presenting the freshest voices from urban and rural teens nationwide.
